Pre-Knock Assessment
Our bat technicians will meticulously examine your bat for any pre-existing cracks or damage. While machine knocking can work wonders, it's crucial to identify any underlying issues that might be exacerbated by the process.
Preparing Your Bat
To ensure a smooth knocking process and optimal results, we'll apply a thin layer of raw linseed oil to the bat's face and edges. This oil helps soften the willow fibers, making them more receptive to compression without risking cracks.
Machine Calibration
Your bat will be securely mounted in our machine, ensuring perfect alignment throughout the knocking process. Our technicians will then meticulously calibrate the machine's settings based on your bat's type and desired outcome. This involves adjusting factors like - Mallett Pressure & Knocking Speed
The Knocking Process
Here's where the magic happens! Our machine takes over, precisely replicating the strokes of an expert batsman. The rounded mallet repeatedly strikes the bat's face and edges, mimicking real-game conditions. This process typically involves thousands of strikes, with the intensity gradually increasing throughout the session. Throughout the knocking, our technicians will meticulously monitor your bat, ensuring the process progresses smoothly and addressing any potential concerns.
